I just realized Ricky has been buying Louisa Pedigree canned food. Have there been any problems with that?

we have started cooking most (unfortunately) not all dog food ourselves. Ricky works at a natural food grocery and every day they have meat that has just gone out of date. He brings it home and roasts it in the stove and then cuts it up and cooks it with cornmeal on the stovetop. She just loves it. Looks very weird as it is mostly yellow corn meal but her coat is shiny shiny and she loves the custom meal!
