She escaped Vietnam on one of the last boats out right before Saigon fell. She escaped with her infant son to Alaska and began to paint.
The mural is 8' tall and 600 ft long. Many people have helped to create it. She was spectacular to see speak. She said,: "If you are a teacher, teach peace, if a student, learn peace. If a preacher, preach peace if you pray, pray for peace. It is up to us to make it happen."
