Rumor has been spreading that Alton Ellis passed away from cancer either last night or this morning. Russell Gerlach, well known publicist in LA says "'He is still alive as currents reports still indicate from Jeff Sarge who just spoke to Dennis Alcapone at the hospital and Chris Wilson / Joshua Blood at HB who spoke to Carol Dodd who is in touch with Dean and Noel..."

Apparently though, Alton is not expected to last much longer.

This will be another very sad passing and huge loss for reggae.

I took this at an Alton Ellis, George Nooks show at Bourbon Beach just a few years ago.
