Not just the most important election in years, but in my lifetime (63). The world is watching what is being done in the US; we have planted the seeds of hatred that we have been reaping for the last 15 years you know. Some of this unreasoning, unreasonable hatred is a result of the superior, racist behavior of Americans towards the citizens of the non-white world.

Many years ago Brother Malcolm wrote about "chickens coming home to roost". That is what has been happening, and it's ugly.

I fully believe that my brothers and sisters in America are better than the image that they have been determined to paint in the world--too much bad karma is resulting. So far, the president that I have the most respect for is Jimmy Carter, although many considered him a failure. He has been unfailingly positive since his Presidency, and has walked the walk with his good works, especially with Habitat for Humanity.

I long for the days when the Peace Corps spread help and relief to the 3rd World, and VISTA (remember them? VOLUNTEERS IN SERVICE TO AMERICA) helped the poor in the US. We have to let loose this acquisitive society, they're just "things", and grow in ourselves the ability to help others, without looking for a bottom line.
