I am sad to hear of his death.

A funny memory of Elvis. On one of my trips, Elvis asked me to take back a "small carving" to be given to one of his friends who lived near me. He was so persuasive, I think I agreed to it (that part is fuzzy). Days passed and I thought nothing more about it. Then just before I was leaving for the airport here come's Elvis into Miyard with a HUGE wood carving, at least 20 lbs, for me to take to his friend. He also had another wood carving, probably only weighing five pounds , to give me for my efforts.

I relented and found room in my suitcase for the masterpiece (first examining it to make sure I knew what I was carrying), donated the other carving to my room at Miyard, making Elvis very happy.

At the airport, my bag was overweight so I got to do some last minute rearranging under the watchful eye of security, but ultimately "mission accomplished."

Turns out this friend, who "lived near Atlanta" lived in Ohio, so the transfer was a little more complex that anticipated.

The next year when I returned to JA, Elvis was thrilled to have leared from his Ohio friend that I had fullfilled his wishes.
