The best I can tell you is this: everytime the government gets their hands into something they screw it up. Did you watch 20/20 tonight about farm subsidies that McCain opposed and the Obama supported? It has caused mre problems than it has helped and the little farmers were the ones hurt. Towns have declined in size. The big boys got richer. They did a spot on New Zealand where they ended farm subsidies despite mass deomnstrations against it. And what happened? Farming has quintupled and became MORE profitable!
Newsflash there buddy, the government, and that would be Dems and Repubs together, have got us into this mess and you think that government will now fix our problems? Isn't is foolish to trust those who caused the problems to fix them. The economist on 20/20 said it is like asking an arsonist who started a fire to put it out. They are ALL bad Mike. Have you paid attentions ot the promises that every Presidential candidate has made over the years. None of it ever happens. Bablyon rules dude. They do not care about you or me. It is about power and greed.
The program disussed spontaneous order and everyone agreed that government does not make America work, people do! We teh people. Givernment interferes with us. They don;t help us. That is why Jefferson and the founding fathers had it right and we rose to be the greatest country on earth. That is unitl we sopped being the smartest people in the world and stopped holding them accountable. We got lazy and fat, figuratively and literally. Since Carter began the Departmenr of Education, education has gotten worse, not better.
Go on and fool yourself Mike. I would much rather view history and what that tells me than your opinion. Sorry but that is the way I see it.
By the way Mike, all these people losing their homes and those that lost money in the stock market, they nmade investments. Inherent in ALL inveestments is risk. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. So many people cahsed out all the equity at the top of the market and brought at the top of the market. If the government hadn't gotten their hands in that and encouraged loans that were not sound, who is left to blame. The government an those who took the risk. That's life. Get over it. And recessions? They are a natrual part of EVERY economy. And we still ahve it better than nearly everyone in the world even with things as bad as they are. It still has not gotten close to what it was in the Carter years.
Mike, what do you know about economics, business and the such? What are your credentials? I only ask since you seem to speak as though you know something that I do not and I would like to know what you got to back that up. I am not trying to be arrogant, but I have spent a great deal of time studying and working over the years in business and in healthcare. I know that in the 40's and the 50's, the government gave out lots of money to build hsoipitals and have injected government funds into healthcare. The current problem got bad within 30 years ...in the 80's and since. After about 40 years the chicken came home to roost. And education? About 40 years ago we started giving the schools money. Here we are. 40 years later and the costs have skyrocketed. The pattern is that government injected money becomes waste and bloats budgests. Then when they reign it in, they og after us to keep their bloated budgets going.
Mike, who is going to pay for all that you talk about. No way to you Mike. If you want socialism/communism, you move to Venezuela or China. I am happy with what our founding fathers created that has worked for over 200 years and I am NOT interested in your suggested social experiment.
