3 pounds of Macintosh apples
1/4 cup fresh lemon
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp ground Cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg (I grate it myself)
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
at least 2 handfuls of assorted raisins (golden etc. and it doesn't hurt to throw in a few currants)
1 generous handful of pecan halves
mix all together, put in a 9" pie pan (have the bottom layer of crust in first) top with another crust, glaze with a mixture of egg yolk and 1 tbsp water. Sprinkle sugar on top and bake at 450 for 20 minutes, then lower heat to 375 for another 40 minutes or until the crust looks golden brown.
It makes your house smell really good too!
