SIGH - no one has the intelligence or emotional endurance to read a few paragraphs?? Not even Roger? I reposted a link below.

Very briefly, here are a couple points BEYOND RoevWade you should be learning about:

1. "In essence, FOCA [Freedom of Choice Act] would abolish....conscience protections for pro-life citizens working in the health-care industry - protections against being forced to participate in the practice of abortion or else lose their jobs." There are many other issues in FOCA but this is one I want to draw your attention to.

I'm sure there are more than a few on this board who enthusiastically support/ed Conscientious Objection to Military Service. Are you not willing to extend similar support those who feel the same way about taking human life in the health care setting? Signing FOCA is the FIRST thing Obama has said he would do as President!

2. Obama is against providing support for pregnant women who want to consider other options than abortion. "In fact, Obama has opposed key provisions of the [Pregnant Women Support] Act, including providing coverage of unborn children in the State Children's Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP), and informed consent for women about the effects of abortion and the gestational age of their child. This legislation would not make a single abortion illegal."

3. Instead of supporting research to develop exact equivalents of embryonic stem cells without using or producing human embryos, Obama was one of the few senators voting against it. AND he co-sponsored a bill that would authorize the large scale production (think fish farming) of human embryos for biomedical research and requiring them to be killed if they were produced by cloning. He deceptively calls this an anti-cloning bill but it is not.

Georgiajan, here is a factchecker link about what you posted. It is not quite as simple as you lay it out. It takes effort to read and research. Which many here seem unwilling to do on this topic. http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/obama_and_infanticide.html
