Hmm...let's see...Powell been advising Obama since summer of 2007. Powell was not only against the war but also the surge when he began advising Obama. Same time that Powell begins to advise Obama he starts runnning around publicly making statements how he tried to convince Bush not to go to war with Iraq, surge won't work, Iraq in a civil war, and maybe Iran and Syria should be talked to about it. How disasterous would that have been?
So Bush did not agree with Powell's take on the ability to win the war, nor McCain with the surge. Sounds like Powell may have had a bruised ego to me. I think he wanted us to lose in Iraq. He was pissed Bush would not listen to him and pissed McCain was right and Powell ends up all wrong and with mud on his face. When it looked like it might fail, Powell goes running around shoting off his mouth. Then clams up. Hmmm...
I have a completely different picture of Powell right now. This all fits a lkkle to well. If I had remembered some of this last week, I would have predicted what he did without a second thought. Yes rob farese...politirx at its' best!
No one could ever convince me now that Powell has been truly undecided but rather been with Obama for well over a year and just been biding time for memories to fade and so there was not enough time left before the election to have this kind of discussion. And he had to take care so there was no appearance or suggestion of racial motives. I also don't believe for a second Powell is really a Repub anymore and think he hasn't been for some time but in name only.
Of course this is my opinion. But it does fit to well. Here, I gotta go with the gut. I have lsot a lot of faith in him after reading this article. Every time I research anything having to do with Obama...now even Powell...more questions than answers.
Found this while looking for the oath powell would have given Bush which Icannot find:
