The Nyahbinghi Rasta will describe their livity as an inborn knowledge and not something learned. Rasta is born within the human spirit and often described as the Godliness within. When one sites up Rasta, their livity is a demonstration of how that knowledge manifests through action.

Rastas reject historians trying to box their faith into a movement. This is also described in the exhibit at the Smithsonian. Many Rasta reasonings discuss this in depth, however, most turn a mistrusting eye on the scholar who tries to capture Rasta in a book, thus, Culture's song "You can't study the Rastaman."
