For all of us Top Chef junkies last night was the kick off of the new season. In the first elimination challenge, contestants were paired with NY neighborhoods and required to have a head to head cook off against one another. Jamaican cuisine was one of the categories and both dishes looked good to me. The judges chose the jerk seared scallops with a trio of sauces (red, green and gold) as being the best. (The macadamia nut crusted plantain fritters sounded good although macadamia nuts are not Jamaican.) Here's the recipe link:
