Just checking (because this puppy weighs 15 pounds and we'd have to come up with at least one car battery) that provided we were powering the Modem, the Internet would be up? When we had Comcast we lost Internet in power outages but now that we have FIOS we stay up as long as the little 5 pound UPS can keep the modem up (almost an hour). I think one car battery (not actively being charged by a car) would last several hours of just modem & mixer (I think we would have to go audio-only because the lights would drain each car battery in an hour). How long could the laptops last anyway on their own power too?
You know one of those little Honda gas-powered generators would run the whole show all night on a gallon or two of gas! I think they only weigh about 25 pounds. They likely cost in excess of a hundred bucks though. Maybe someone traveling lightish could haul one (must contain no fluids or fluid residue!)? Or are they available in Jamaica too?
