Kymani Marley tribute to Bianca Noons

Ricky and I attended the Tribute Concert for Bianca Noons last Friday night. The show was at Club Rio in Houston, a very nice venue mostly used for Hip Hop. Personally, I hope they do more reggae shows, it had a great atmosphere.

The show started around midnite with a mix of hip hop artists who were friends or worked with Bianca and reggae artists. A beautiful set of dvds featuring Bianca's life played before the show and during the sets. She was born in Kenya, lived in the UK, Jamaica and Houston so she and her sister were exposed to many cultures. Because their father was a black UK citizen and their mother a white Jamaican, the girls decided to be called Neutral due to their mixed heritage and cultural upbringing.

Kymani came on around 3:15 and played until 4. I totally enjoyed his performance even though it mainly focused on well known Bob Marley songs. He had been touring with Van Haylan and also played a few rock songs that I loved!

Here is Kymani backstage with Bianca's father Tony Noons.
