mini trip report

For the past week, there have been some afternoon showers but only once did it last into the darkness.

The temp is a little lower than Sept, as is the humidity, but give me November anyday.

As one would expect, not many foreign around, but there are some. Saw the one-love-drive bus filled as it headed to the west end. Naturally, I was going the other way. :)

The Wild Thing boat just went past Blue Cave castle, fairly full as the captain explained where they were, and onward towards Ricks. It's 3:30 local time. Personally, I like watching the Wednesday boat ride. :)

Sunday night, or I think it was Sunday, there was live entertainment on the beach, no cover charge. Burbon Beach, I believe. A little disagreement as to the quality of the band between Rhonda and myself, but that's OK. The first main act was going on when I left at 11 PM.
Typical late starts were never my favorite, but the crowd of tourists and locals enjoyed the music. Everyone had a place to sit, if that gives you an idea of an October crowd.
I'm not a beach road person but it was good to get down there.

Jenny's restaurant was open, as well as Tryon's bar/chicken/pool hall. MiYard has the 'temp closed' chain across the entrance.
L&M grocery, beyond BlueCave is its usual 'full loaded isles'. Reminds me of a place in Brooklyn that made maximum use of the floor/shelves.

But of course, I've been dropping thousands of dollars at Quality Traders (the green building) and Hi-Lo supermarkets.

Warning; carrots are j$375 a pound at the market, and only slightly better off a fruit truck (300). Fortunaely, banannas continue to be J$30 everywhere.

As last month, taxis are still 130, or 150 if no one has the coins. :)

Most days have a breeze, but at night I've had the overhead fan running.

BTW - the beer truck does not sell cases unless they have extra (customer refusal, I guess) and the cost is $1980. The red stripe beer at BB was $3 US or J$300 each but one has to pay for the environment.

back in PA Thursday, AM. Oh how I'm looking forward to the hard floor of Chicago airport Wednesday night. (thank you American Air.) LOL
