Mi Yard Cyber Club Message Board

I have no friends; email caution

I have no friends; email caution

I chose this cryptic subject line because I just received an email, sent from a gmail account (hence it passed through their spam filter) from someone named Kent Gammon

The text says: Your friend shared a file with you on Google Docs

and the next line is a click-on link. BUT the link goes to a site in Brazil which, according to the source code of the email, seems to require a log-in.

I have no friends set up on my googleplus account (more on this below)

Search Result: Mr. Gammon is a director of WallenFord Coffee Company Limited, Consumer Affairs Commission, ChiChiBud Limited. Mr. Gammon is the chairman of Jamaica Anti-Doping ....

Years ago I wrote to several contacts on the Coffee Board, or perhaps Wallenfod, about someone counterfeiting BM coffee (IMO) but either the email bounced OR I got no reply, and I dropped the subject.

So it seems unlikely the email was legit and I caution anyone to think before clicking on email links when what it shows is not where it goes. If you want to play (?), I'll supply the full link to :aturs.com.br/css/newgdoc/view/...

Friends/circles/invites = these I avoid because of automatic invites, postings which are not intended, etc. Anything I want to share I do so via email or on the msg board(s). I mean no offense by ignoring those circle invites. And sometimes, as one company which sent out 1400 of them, the person did not intend to invite anyone but the options were a bit unclear (linkedin or facebook.)
