Like the Cheers song, "... everybody knows your name", it's cool (that's a good term) to be able to say "yea, I know the name from the MiYard message board."

That's providing meeting someone on the street, begging for money, pleading their story of furfilling their dream of moving to Jamaica but running out of money. Shoot, I'd even throw in an extra J$50 just so they could buy some Bulla.

In truth, when I do help out "foreign", (but refrain from acting as someone from Negril and expecting to "be touched", LOL,) I usually ask if they ever visit the MiYard msg board.
Since the answer is always no, I toute the advantages and the swell people who post trip reports and answer questions.

I mean to ask: doesn't everyone like helping out strangers so their vacation can be more fun? There are a lot of repeat visitors.

Even on the tourist bus there are questions. My usual, best advise is to NOT tell a vendor you have no money with you. By vendor I mean the mobile ones who will be outside your hotel the next morning expecting you to buy what you promised.

I was just wondering that if someone started a list of good advise to give, would others add onto that list? Probably only a half dozen or so.
