Tell It Like It Is
In Response To: Re: tat WITTY. Tnx4sharing ()

One of my favorite Aaron Neville songs.

Funny, never heard of the Dreadneck board and although I knew of Tammy's, I forgot about it. I just don't have enough time to go to my own website/board. I don't even know if Negril.com exists.

For me, I don't need a tell it all place. I know more than I ever wanted to and have lost interest in discussing those things publicly. I have a close group of friends, mostly in the reggae music industry that takes most of my time and glance occasionally at Whaagwaan in Negril for the issues most affecting that area- mainly because I have a home, grandchildren and land there.

Hughie, Ricky has returned to Jamaica for an indefinite amount of time to go back to fishing and farming. He has been with me for 25 years in Austin, land locked and at his late age, he needed to go back to the sea before it's totally too late. I know you can relate. I plan in a few years to move to Florida (been looking at various areas already) so I can fly back and forth.

The drama and controversy on some boards is just not a personal interest any more. After awhile, you know Jamaica for what it is and need to move accordingly as each situation is different.

My most pressing issue is watching my beautiful grand girls grow in a dangerous way- aligning with dancehall culture at an early age. Sex and narcissism - very unbecoming and dangerous when expressed via the internet. Between that and what I have learned about the culture of youth in Jamaica, I am very concerned about the future of the country. Thank goodness for young artists like Chronixx, Protoje, Jah 9 etc who are trying to set a new standard, however, there are plenty youth who do not get the message and are walking down dangerous avenues of life. These overarching issues in Jamaica- including the lack of accountability from the Minister of Youth and Culture (Lisa Hanna) as well as Minister of Tourism and Entertainment (Damian Crawford), the destruction of Pinnacle, watching other countries take the reign for reggae music, proposed Breakwater in Negril etc take up about all the brain space I have right now.

More power to all the boards. I still find time to check in here as I have the utmost respect for Delroy and have never been censored here.
