I have known Muta since he was a young poet, barefoot, cooking food at Sunsplash. I deeply respect the education he has given himself and the efforts he has made to expand the consciousness of black people in Jamaica. He has played a very important role in helping black people have self confidence, pride and knowledge in themselves. It is people like Muta who can help Jamaica's youth understand the significance of their history and potential instead of being shot dead in the streets.
