Copeland Forbes

On my recent trip to Jamaica about two weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to interview Chronixx, Copeland Forbes, Billy Mystic (Jamnesia), Prof I (elder Nyahbinghi drummer), Kabaka Pyramid and the Director of the Edna Manley School of Music. These interviews will be available on Island Stage and United Reggae Magazines very soon. I attended two of the Capture Land Tour performances and then after interviewing Chronixx at his residence, a quiet, thoughtful environment, I have no doubt he will be reggae's next superstar. He is charismatic, soulful, spiritual and a deep thinker at his young age of 22. Planning a Jamaican Film Festival in Austin for the Fall and a photo shoot with the Wailers this afternoon. Life is good!

COPELAND FORBES is undeniably Jamaica's most renown artist manager. In the last fifty years in the business, COPELAND has globalized reggae music. He has managed many of Jamaica's best known reggae artists and will one day launch his book REGGAE MY LIFE. Sitting with Copeland for a two hour interview at DEVON HOUSE was fascinating and will be transcribed and released soon and the audio version will be played on my show, CONSCIOUS PARTY. It is important for all reggae fans to know the contribution all great managers make in the career of their favorite artists and the real challenges of the business are often kept behind the scenes in their care.
