Re: First ganja licence to a private company.

They have been operating in Jamaica for sometime. It should be noted that two Jamaican Universities have so far been granted licences.

My question is what has happen to Westmoreland Hemp and Ganja Farmers Association in recent months?

They seems to have gone silence since the passing of Kubba seeing beside in this pic. He was the driver and engine behind that organisation.

I maybe wrong but I done know of any meeting of that organisation since his passing. Iyahav that man that was chosen to head this organisation seems to have his hand full as he have to attend meetings of the legistrative Council that is drafting the rules and regulation regard the ganja laws recently passed by the Jamaican government. He is also busy with Rastafari Rootzfest the local organisation that is partnering/hosting the High Times World Canabis Cup here in Negril.

Regarding the Canabis Cup there is no vibes here on the One Love Drive about it. The community seems to be disconnected from it. But it is not only the community that is feeling the disconnect. I have people calling from home and abroad wanting to get in touch with Iyahav and having issues doing so. In some cases I gave them his number. The return response is not always good.

I must hasten to say that Kubba's passing dont seems to only affect Westmoreland Hemp and Ganja Famers Association, WHGFA but also the Negril Cluster which I am the leader by default. We have not been having meeting either. I attempted to call a meeting some weeks ago but I did not get the meet because of lock of turn out. Kubba's main attribute for me was his ability to get people together. Without him it is going to be difficult especially for us on this side of Negril to get people together.

Regard the legislative council Ras Iyahav sits on that council as a representative of Rastas. I really dont know if anyone is truely representing the farmers on that council. WHGFA was setup to represent all farmers not just Rastas and Iyahav spoke to that many times when he speaks but in representing Rastas on the council I am not sure if he will be able to represent all farmers..

Lot more to be said.
