I gave a slight edge to Obama. I thought he missed quite a few opportunities to really hammer McCain on some points. McCain did a little better than I thought he would, but I had pretty low expections for McCain. I thought a couple times he was really babbling about nothing and I thought that showed his age a little.
McCain scored some points when he kept hammering that Obama asked for 800 million in pet projects (or whatever that figure was) since he was in the Senate.
Obama made a great point about Bush taking out Iran's natural enemy, which was Iraq. We did Iran a huge favor by doing this. By invading Iraq, we helped Iran by helping lift the price of oil, which gives them money for weapons and we took out basically their only enemy in the region.
This was a huge foreign policy blunder.
The U.S. Iran, Iraq policy for the last few decades has just been abysmal.
Did you also notice that McCain could not bring himself to look at Obama during the entire debate? I found this a little disturbing. Never really saw that in a debate b4.
Did you also notice who approached whom to shake hands after the debate with the wives ?
