Kissinger did say last week that he thought we should talk with Iran. Now that it has been publicized, yesterday he clarified (for McCain's benefit) that what he meant was for there to be meetings with Iran by the Secretary of State not the president. That's not exactly denying his prior statement nor does it show that Obama misspoke. The transcript of Kissinger's comments clearly show what he said. The fact that he is qualifying the statement doesn't make it a "gaffe" by Obama.
As for McCain's level of support for veterans, he also voted against a measure that would have limited the frequency with which our troops could be deployed. I know of one serviceman who is now on his way to Iraq for the 7th time. That is too much. I also know of a family who lost a son when he committed suicide the day before he was to leave for Iraq for the 5th time. Enough. This is unacceptable.
