The post was about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. If it is not important to you that Obama is taking lobbying money when he claims he does not that is fine. If you are intereste in this problem we have, read on.

The watchdog group that reported such said that was the amounts OVER a twenty year period for these three in Congress. Obama has only been in there for three years. Note that Obama stated he was SO concerned about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac...but no bills and no support fo a bill to do so and sponsored by McCain, Dole, Nagel and another fellow. Dodd has been a ranking member of the Subcommitte of Banking Housing and Urban Affairs for years and is cdurrently so. The Senate could not get the 60 votes needed to move the bill along because the minority dems kept it from passing. A simple majority in the Senate does not give it control. You must have 60 or more members. If there is not 60, the m=inority can still block a bill.

Read the news....it is all over the place today...i jsut figured it out on my own after Roger asked the question...that gov.track.us is very useful...it is clear that Dodd and the Dems are to blame for not only doing nothing at all but als blocking the only bill out there do something and chose to ignore Bush's please that began in 2002.

finally, note that the lobbying money that was given was to keep regulators off the backs of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. If the bill had been successful, they would have had much more oversight.

AS for Oil...Obama voted to give big oil 6 billion dollars when he supported the Cheney and Bush Energy Act of 2005. McCain voted against it saying he did not want it to pass it because it was going to give that money to big oil and they were already making record profits. The record speaks for itself.
