There is a direct link between politics & many long time visitors to JA who support the Jamaican run places, NOT the "All Inclusive" types of places... I'm talking about spending our $$ at places like MiYard, the Ital place across from where Jimmy Jackson's campsite was many years ago (just down from Samsara across the street), places like Jah B's., Sexy Rexy's way up by the lighthouse...etc. And (thanks to the Republic party) we can't go to Jamaica as often as we used to or at all.. Thanks to the Republican party, our economy is in shambles, and "HOW" they manipulated the voting, I can't tell you the number of people in Florida who TRIED to vote eight years ago and COULD NOT vote. The amount of money spent on "the war" because of "weapons of mass destruction".. the whole Haliburton scenario...

I think there might possibly be a whole lot less of long time tourists/visitors this coming year because of the economy in the US, UK, Italy, etc. And the long time visitors are the ones who support and are careful to spend their hard earned money in JAMAICAN run businesses.

One thing I am very happy about is the "Republican" choice of the VP candidate. I definitely thought they would have been a little more savy in their choice. This will be a LANDSLIDE victory for all the Democrats in the house. The [economic] damage that the Republican party has caused and the cost of the "war" will cost all of us for MANY years to come.
