First Georgiajan, I completely agree with you on the unity theme and tis' importance. I did not see this post before posting something along these lines this morning. My take is this...continuing to attack Republicans and make one side out to look like Angels and the other demons will not lead to this but rahter will widen the divide.

As I said yesterday, there are good guys and bad guys on both sides. I posted something yesterday about this yesterday and then after a response engaged in the very same thing I speak against here. I laid my head on my pillow last night and realized that if we are all going to unite, then we need to focus on the positives of each other and each other's party and not negatives and will need to ignore things that led to the disagreements to begin with. It requires forward looking and not looking back. Finding things in common, not those that divide or divided to begin with. Open minds and open hearts and overlooking past discretions is the only thing that can begin the healing process and begin to build trust.

I should have known better yesterday as I work hard to keep people out of court which involves negotiation and concensus between the parties. For that Roger, I apologize. The time that is most successful is when clients are focused away from what led to the disagreement and to instead look forward to resolution and end to the dispute. Nicking at healing wounds prevents this and nearly each time the clients cannot be focused forward and they are stuck on what got them there ALWAYS results in failure.

So my suggestion for everyone and myself and in our dealings here and elsewhere is that when someone sees a positive thread as this or something positive in your everyday interactions, look to the future and not the past...feed into the positive and find ways to make it more positive. Resist the inclination to obtain revenge, self pride or gloating.
