When Bush was elected eight years ago, so MANY people were stunned with his victory, "how could that happen"... so many questions...
I live in an area in New York with many Jamaican immigrants who I have helped to become American citizens. Many were hesitant throughout the years, but I have convinced them through showing each of them how so many "frame up" type of arrest situations can and do occur. And that if they are an American citizen, for sure, they will have "more rights". And each and every one of them has stressed education for their children and sacrificed so much to do so. Alot of them have kind of 'turned their back on Jamaica' and only go back for funerals and talk bad of the country they once loved -- all of the crime, all of the injustice...
Jamaican/Americans worked and campaigned on the Obama campaign in the northeast. The Democratic Party gives us hope, hope that America can possibly be a respected country again. Our economy has been devastated, this is just the beginning, unfortunately.

The majority of Jamaicans are of 'mixed race' -- not totally BLACK. Where I work we have alot of black Africans from all over Africa... they are BLACK as BLACKNESS can be. Looking like not a one person I have ever met in Jamaica. My point being, "what's YOUR point?" asking if Obama is black? Just because he has a lighter skin tone than those who are born in Africa?

I think he will be one hundred percent more righteous in trying to do good for the people of America than Bush. Bush was famous for his little temper tantrums towards his key staff members, little spoiled boy...
Anyone living in the U.S. will be paying for years and years and years for the absolute stupidity of this war, for the past eight years, against "weapons of mass destruction". All while the company, Halberton (sp?) is getting an obscene amount of money for their works.
