In an even harsher reality, after traveling to Jamaica since the mid seventies, I would have to say the men are less interested in how beautiful you are or how sexy you are as they are in how wealthy you are. Many, unless they need a way to leave the country, are looking for economic support. Some are looking for a way to come to America or Europe. I think it is a bit vain to think Jamaican men aren't more interested in the beautiful Jamaican women when it comes to love. Trust me, when it comes to beauty, there are plenty of knock out Jamaican women who have bodies that would compete with any tourist if that is what someone is looking for.
Unfortunately, few Jamaican women have the economic opportunities to help their men move forward....but some do and most of them are in relationships with Jamaican men. Hence, the attraction to foreigners, white and black.
I have been married to a Jamaican man for 18 years. It had nothing to do with where I came from, how I dressed on the beach or my financial background. I developed a long time friendship with no romance that eventually turned into love. My husband actually cried when he had to leave his family, country and occupation to live in America. However, it saved his life when it was discovered he had a brain tumor. I believe divine intervention is what led us down the path of marriage.
My advice is to consider how you want to be seen in a foreign country by strangers and go from there. Don't get caught up in how beautiful you are or how nice you look in a bikini. Understand you are in a poor country where men are desperate for alot more than sex or a pretty girl.
