A Love I Can Feel (reggae/cancer)

About six months ago, Billy Mossburg, CEO of Mossburg Music, contacted me about a cd he was producing called "A Love I Can Feel." The artists on this cd have a close personal experiences with cancer (themselves or someone close). Billy wanted to produce a cd and give the proceeds to a cancer charity to help fight this horrific disease. As a Director for the American Cancer Society specifically at the National Cancer Information Center, I have contact with patients and their challenges everyday. Our teams provide information and resources across the country, however, we also collect research that promotes improvements in health care legislation and Access to Care.

Billy asked if I would offer photos and write the liner notes. Of course, I would as this is the first tie between my day job and my life passion of reggae music. I recently received a copy of the cover and liner and love the design (post below this one). Barbara, keyboard player for Clinton Fearon created the cover design and several other photographers offered their artwork. The cd was released two weeks ago and is available on the Mossburg music website.

The liner notes took about a minute to write as the words are close to my heart and easy to express. Special love to my friend Zema, who is featured as one of the artists and to all artists who support a cause that benefits humanity.

The photocredits are not quite correct- I see Sis April contributed the photo of Zema. I contributed Doreen Schafer, Clinton Fearon and McPullish. Ryan Smith donated a photo of Contra Coup.

For those of you who have a cancer experience or feel the love for those who have, this cd might be a good way to donated to much needed funding to further support, research and patient services.
