This is currently my most favorite flower that is grown in my area. I bought two vines a few years back, one scarlet, the other purple. The red one didn't make it but this one grabbed onto a tree outside my bathroom window and has burst out in flowers throughout the tree. My friend told me today that it is called a Passion Flower because of the imagery around Easter and Christ. I don't know that history but I do love how spacey the flower looks. It is a beautiful sunny day in the low eighties making the flowers even more beautiful for Easter Sunday.
