That is so true. The hard working people who don't ride the roller coaster of $ like street urchins do, keep their nose clean and accept responsibility. They deserve respect and support.
Humor insert; By admission, he worked 3AM to 3PM (vs dawn to dusk). To keep 7 kids in school (?), maybe he cheated on his tax returns and under reported the # of patties actually sold.
There can be big differences between high and low season. Places (bars, restaurants, clothing vendors, taxis) can lose $ in low season or just break even. I know that Jenny's would stay open and lose $ just to keep the employees working every summer. I would suspect this msg board provider fits that mold too.
Did I believe a craft market vendor who took 2 taxis each way and sold nothing in a day? Did I believe a taxi driver who went home with the same amount of $ he started with? Yes I did. Do I want to spend $20 for a charter taxi ride to Ricks? Get real; No.
