It occurred to me last evening while watching the debate that "what if, God forbid, something should happen to McCain or Obama prior to the election, who would be 1)the candidate or 2) the president?" Is this something that ever happened, ifso what transpired. If it should happen, and it's certainly a possibility given McCain's advanced age, what would happen to the election? Would Obama win by default or would Palin, again God forbid, be the presidential candidate.

Just a "what if" scary question for those who are more informed than me, with only a college education.
