It's not that they are "perfect", not that AT ALL. The "Christians" I know hold themselves above ALL others, and believe that they will be the ONLY ones "saved" in the end, REGARDLESS of their actual behavior because they believe Christ will save them in spite of their sin- as long as they repent sometime before they die and ask for forgiveness. The "Christians" I see/hear about every single day still bellieve this BUT their life reflects the opposite of what the Christian religion is SUPPOSED to be about. They are too busy pounding their bibles and judging everyone else who does not believe the way they do,and FORCING their views on others to set an example and do the right thing. It's like they have a "mandate from God" (sound familiar, Bushies?)to sin. These are the "Christians" of my life experience, and more recently what I have seen from the right wing, and they scare the shit out of me (war, more war, killling innocent citizens)...BTW, YES I was born, baptized, and confirmed a "Christian" but I will no longer associate myself with that group of people who kill and declare war in the name of any God.

To sum it up, obviously you and I have not been witnessing the same group of "Christians", the ones that are more visible to us lately. To be even more specific, I am talking about the people in the public eye right now, those who have the power and influence to change the world for the BETTER, yet refuse to realize that God does indeed have many names. To be even more clear, I am NOT saying that there are no good Christians.

Do you realize that Christianity, along with Islam, is so close-minded that it historically does not allow for any other ideas other than that which fall within that narrow view of the world? The majority of other(older) religions have always held tolerance for other religions...

Well I have tried to spiff this up so you will know where my post came from, BUT this is the best that I can do right now. My mind is soft right now from meditating, after a historically stressful day, LOL.
