Roger...thanks for your elot...whether people in America are ignorant of the fact that there is domestic terrorism is not the point. This guy, Ayers, is a domestic terrorist. He clearly has not changed and has NEVER been apologetic. But for some mistakes in wiretaps by the federal government, he would have gone to jail and never been involved with Obama. he got lucky. As for your suggetion of a mild association, I would suggest reading some of the more current events. With all due respect, this is NOT the casual relationship you suggest and whatever you came to belive is simply not correct or factual although I would add there has been a great deal of spin but both Obama and his campaign. Here is a report on that issue and some others.

http://beldar.blogs.com/beldarblog/2008/10/cnn-ayers-and-o.html

My point is this: There are serious questions about Obama and his ties to radicals such as Bill Ayers, Father Pfleger (in the words of blogger Sultan Knish, “the white Jeremiah Wright”–another long-time Obama supporter endorser and angry, Farrakhan-defending, jihad-apologizing, Jew-basher who also once threatened to “snuff” out gun rights supporters in Chicago.), Jeremiah Wright, ACORN, Farrakhan and other radical groups. I stated there are serious judgment issues. You said this guy is "clean". I completely disagree.

Again I say there are serious judgment issues. I asked you before if you looked into ACRON and you said you didn't have time. I did. They are scary as hell... evolved out of a welfare rights organization and seek to create a communist welfare state. They are hte new Bolsheviks. They are Communists, plain and simple. The level to which they have injected themselves into politics and law influencing is astounding and unbelieveable. There is too much to write about it but it is out there.

And Obama has been one of their biggest supporters:

....back in Chicago, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) is more important than Iraq or Washington. ACORN and its associated Midwest Academy, both founded in the 1970s, continue to train and mobilize activists throughout the country, often using them to manipulate public opinion through "direct action." It's sometimes a code for illegal activities.

Prior to law school, Barack Obama worked as an organizer for their affiliates in New York and Chicago. He always has been an ACORN person -- meeting and working with them to advance their causes. Through his membership on the board of the Woods Fund for Chicago and his friendship with Teresa Heinz Kerry, Obama has helped ensure that they remain funded well.

Since he graduated from law school, Obama's work with ACORN and the Midwest Academy has ranged from training and fundraising, to legal representation and promoting their work."

Now don't forget that Obama himself stated that he had worked to get things into that first baliout bill which included money for Acorn.

Look...the way I see it is this: If it was just Bill Ayers....or just Jeremiah Wright, or jus Acorn, or jsut Father Phlagerty, or just Farrakhan or jsut two Farrakhan Nation of Islam followerss on his state payroll....just one of these in isolation, I would simply shrug it off. But there is too much even an association with a known Communist card holder he called fellow back in Hawaii. Another guy he called a mentor.

He also admits to attending Marxist meetings and socialist meetings. For me, it is jsut way too much, too over the top, too many over too long a period of time t osimply be overlooked or to strike off as coincidence. This is a long period of continued relationships with people who quite frankly would like to see this country move away from democracy towards socialism and communism. People who seek to overthrow our government and very way of life. For me, it is really that simple. Do I think this means anything to most here at Miyard?...of course not. But some here have suggested that opposition to Obama is racist or a number of other things. For me it is not. I imagine for some it is. For me, the more I have read about this guy, I just cannot find anything good about him. I deeply dsitrust him. He scares me tremednosuly, so much i hav been kept up at night feeling asthough he is the enemy within. Call it deranged if you want...tell me I need medication or any of the other mean spirited things that have been said. This is how i feel and I ahve NEVER EVER worried about anybody like this in my life. If any of you want to hold that against me, so be it. I feel comfortable with my opinion because I have spent much time looking into this.

you know, the things he says sound good. he explains things well. I could easily get sucked in if that is all i listened to or used to make up mymind. But I don't work that way and jsut simply could NEVER support this guy at this point in time. NEVER. I don't expect any of you to agree simply because I say that....I would only ask that I be given the respect of having my own decision to make. While not happy with George Bush or the last eight years I cannot simply vote for Obama. And despite how you all see John McCain, i have always loved him. As I said before, I so wish he had won the primary in 2000. And I know how you feel about Lieberman...but i love that guy too. It is probably the fact that I ahve always been more of a moderate by nature. I am more socially liberal and fiscally and governmentally conservative. In reality I don'[t care what party you are from...i thinnk most of us lean in that direction these days.
