I think you completely misunderstood what I meant here. I stated that right wingers often proclaim their Christianity but not as often do they actually live by the teachings of Jesus, the basis of Christianity. If there is some other form of the bible that makes it easier for people to understand and internalize the teachings of Jesus I am all for it. Specifically, I think the right wing could really benefit from a bible that helps exemplify the ways Christians can employ the teachings of Jesus in their day to day life. The common "every man for themselves" concept that Republicans cling to, "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" they often say, is completely contrary to the teachings of Jesus. Aggressive preemptive war tactics would also be contrary to the teachings of Jesus. Excessive greed and lust for personal riches would be contrary to the teachings of Jesus as well, as he said, "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God". The real fact in the matter is Jesus was the first SOCIALIST! So, I think a "life application bible" would do a lot of good to help right wingers recognize how non Christian their politics and leaders really are.
I hope that was more clear. I didn't say it was bad, I said it could be beneficial for them to read something that brings the teachings of Jesus into their day to day life, rather than just on Sunday when they are asking for forgiveness. Christianity is not just a Sunday thing. "He's not the kind you have to wind up on Sunday"
