It really bothers me that Levi has dropped out of school. Just because he is soon to be a father doesn't mean he has to quit school. How about getting a job to do while he is in school.
He is not alone, however. Georgia has an ever increasing rate of high school drop outs, even as the jobs for uneducated folks decrease. Many places here will not accept a GED in lieu of a high school diploma unless the person has another degree, technical or college.
And it isn't just poor kids who drop out and occurs with all socio economic classes.
I just don't understand it.
I don't know how to change this, but it bothers me. Certainly some fault may lie with parents, although I also know folks who were good parents, whose child dropped out of school.
It is sad to me.
