well, no. that is not ALL clear to me.
"It appears quite clear that her needs and desires always came before her children"
that may be true but it is beside the point. The result from that childhood adversity is a man MUCH more accepting of, and in tune with, many and varied cultures, races, and lifestyles - which makes him the better candidate in my book. i really couldn't care less what his personal feelings of lonlieness, disaffection, whatever are - in fact, as far as i'm concerned - if that is true, those feelings may serve to make him MORE in tune with understanding the struggles of the 'underdog' and the lower-and middle-classes that need the most support in this country.
