That is correct goldilocks. I have worked the polls and have had watcher certificates and anyone who does such must leave. The issue can be brought to the Judge of Elections if necessary. You can hand out political materials though, if they pertain to the ballot.
This is a good rule as you would not want to intimidate or frighten other voters. Voting should be a free expression.
Likewise, a teacher should allow free expression of their students and IMHO should not even make their political persuasion known due to the power differences between students and teacher. To do otherwise is borderline intimidation. Finally, those students who would disagree could be punished by teachers who grade their performance and thus hold an importatnt place in the student's life. Teachers are there to teach, not to stand on a soapbox.
