Off topic; the DJ, playing to a small group of locals and about one white girl was saying some very disrespectful things about tourists.

For the above reasons, I never stayed at HB on a Wednesday ever again.

I don't know the full ramifications of an entertainment zone. There were valid complaints in the newspaper article.

I do recall that Tryon's would reduce the level at midnight and at THAT level and the tunes they played, indeed it was welcome music still allowing one to sleep.
