So glad to hear all of these strategies being considered. Can you clarify a few points?
How does the garbage impact security? I love cleaning it up and having better recycling processes but wonder if you can explain the link to security and violence?
 The town look and feel clean send a message to would be criminal and violence tending people. The message is this town people are working together, are caring for each other and are not tolerating a certain behavior. This creates a sense of on invisible eye watching them. Another point is just consider this like a bill with add-ons. We need to have all on board and this add-on can help

Has there been any consideration to placing cameras at a key point going up to West End or entering from the Kingston side?
 Part of the detail plan is to have cameras starting from Scotia Bank to Dora in the deep West End.
Would it even be possible for the police to place arms at those entrance points that could block the road immediately after violence is reported?
 That is not in our thoughts at this time but I will seek to raise it whenever I can.
Are the Security Wardens local residents who volunteer for this position? How can one monitor who signs up for those positions to assure they will not be 'bought off?'
 Very difficult one but it requires good vetting and constant monitoring of the people we choose. We will first choose locals who know the people and the place.
Negril never had this problem when most of the people in the town were FROM Negril. Accompong does not let anyone in without registering to be there and approved based on purpose. This seems like a difficult process but it might be worth it for a year or two until criminals get the idea they cannot 'sneak' into Negril. Of course, taxi's, registered transports, etc would not have to register each time they enter and leave but private vehicles would be required to stop and register. I guess there would need to be too many checkpoints? entrances from Sav, MoBay, Kingston? Or to expedite, one could buy a tag that goes in the window of car and a camera at entrance point can see the registered tag as they come through. I dont have this fully vetted out but not sure some part of this couldn't be instituted.
 One of the camera providers that we have vetted so far have a system that can be connected to the transport authority so that every vehicle that passes, we would get their license and get all their data immediately after passing a camera. So we would not even need to register any vehicle they would register themselves by entering the One Love Drive. I must also let you know that base on communications with authorities regarding the Beach Road it is in our grasp to extend the camera program to the Beach Road.

Again, I have a vested interest in seeing Negril remain the beautiful and peaceful community it once was. The other point is to reduce the amount of development (big hotels, etc) until more security is instituted and proven.
 Government recently proposed to the Negril Community that they want to raise the building permit height from 3 to 4 storeys. There were lots of opposition in the meeting I am told. Some hoteliers think this is needed for them to compete with the very big hotels that are coming in the market.
Thanks for all the Negril businesses are doing.
 Thank you for your ideals and suggestions. Let us continue the debate. I am sure your and other boardies involvement can only help use to get a better security program.
