No Ray, you are wrong, it has been going on for billions of years not millions. But there has never been such a quick thaw of the ice caps as is happening now. CO2 is not the only cause of this recent warming trend though in the Antarctic. It is CFC's. CFC's do not occur naturally. Then are man made substances. R-11 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trichlorofluoromethane)was widely used in North America as an aircraft cleaner as it is a wonderful degreaser. (we used to think nothing of cleaning our overalls in an open drum of it)Aircraft sitting on tarmac, spray that sucker down, grease disappears and guess what Ray, so does the R-11. Only it doesn't disappear as such, it evaporates into the atmosphere. Being as it is a lighter than air substance it floats up to the stratosphere where it destroys the ozone layer.
