It isn't disputed that the earth goes through natural and cyclical warming patterns. However, dependency on and continued use of fossil fuels creates excessive greenhouse gases, such as of CO2, which accumulates in the atmosphere and forms a sort of shield. So, the warm air that would naturally be released to the outer atmosphere gets trapped, therefore contributing to an increase in the earth's temperature. Also, since the earth's forests are disappearing through clear cutting, etc., there are far fewer trees on the planet to convert the CO2 to oxygen.

Which environmental regulations do you think should be removed in California? Clean air laws, clean water laws, laws re removal of pesticides and chemicals from soil prior to land development?

I'm not sure if I understand your statement about China. Are you saying we should use diplomacy to try to have an effect or impact on China's environmental laws (or lack of)? Good idea! Take a look at all of the children's toys and backpacks that were made with high levels of lead that were recalled recently and found in maybe your kids toybox...
