I guess so, probably a lot more common ground to be found as well. I am a fiscal conservative, I am very careful with my money, if republicans did more than give lip service about being fiscally conservative I wouldn't be so hard on them. My problem is they preach a lot of strong principles and never live or govern by them, though they expect that WE live by them by god.
I honestly feel the republican party in recent years have done their best to make common ground disappear between us. "Divide and conquer" and "do as I say not as I do" is the name of the game....
