• The fonts was not easy to read and in some cases was not attractive.
• What are we selling? Are we selling the CLUSTER and its story or we are selling a vacation/destination. It was argued that if we are selling a vacation/destination then the front or home page story and pictures should take one into the vacation/destination.
• The story of the CLUSTER should be on a ABOUT US or HISTORY PAGE.
• The site needs a lot more visuals.
• The attractive buttons at the bottom should be at the top.
• We ordered a BENZ and are getting a LADA
• The collage at the back of the FLASH should be the home page.
• Fiery debate rage about the main picture, the unknown Rasta with the mic, he is a upcoming artist but don’t have a national or international appeal as yet. It was suggested that we put Bob Marley there instead since he is the most popular Jamaican and one of the most popular man on earth. Question of copy right came up. Suggestion was made that we contacted the Bob Marley Foundation to secure the rights to use it. I thought a resolution came and the reason why I thought a resolution came was because I think there can only one reason why we don’t use Bob Marley if we can. That one reason would be copyright. Now here for the resolution; It was suggested that since we are doing the Bob Marley Birthday Week and we are doing that legally we could put his picture with the birthday date. That would be promoting the birthday bash that has been going on in Negril for 17 years now. I could not believe this there were people among us that did not want to see that happen. We eventually too a vote and majority was in favor of having Bob as the main picture. The debate rages on after the vote I was asked to give my reason why. My first response was that this is a no brainier, that did not go down well, I said right now we have an unknown. We want to remove that unknown and put one of the most popular face in the world, The site performance in search engines will be enhance many folds, One Love Drive plans to sell Jamaican culture as much as possible and Bob is a symbol of that, he also have the song ONE LOVE that is been played when the site opens. Maybe some of you out there in Cyber World can convince that having Bob Marley on the main page negatives will outweigh the hug positives that I can see and feel.
• The designer said he understands the issues and he is will and will be making the changes requested.
• He was told that confidence in him delivering a BENZ or converting the lada into one is at a very low ebb. I felt and express my view that he should be given a chance to see if he can make the changes that we would like to see.
• It was also felt that the One Love Bus is not properly place on the site. It was argued that visitors planning vacation rarely or if ever plan to go on a bus.
• There where argument for a story writer, it was felt that the one love drive have a store to be told and it need a writer to tell it..
• Slow browsing.
• MiYard is not listed under Bars
• The hotels listing is not attractive. Suggestion was that the list should be so clear that one can decide whether they want allinclusive, budget , etc
With all this barrage of criticism the designer remain calm and promise to let us have the changes requsted only insisting that he is satisfy with his content and if we need more content he has an issue with that… It was pointed out to him that he should not be insisted on contract because he himself has not been operating according to. He was told it is in his best interest if the site needs more content he get more as the site want the best site possible.
